Many thanks to all our RIO SECO family and friends for helping us make our 7th Annual Friday Fun Nite Music and BBQ gatherings extra nice. We enjoyed every one of them with great food, fantastic bands, friendly people and RIO SECO wines!...Thanks especially to our BBQ and Hospitality Crew: Shauna, Steve, Rick, Sue, Heather, Barry, Linda, Tom2, Bev, Marcial, Cait, Samuel and Mike! We couldn't have done it without you! Already we are looking forward to summer 2010!

~ Harvest Season

While people are still checking with us to see if we have a gathering on Friday night, for the most part, the entire month of September keeps everybody busy with the sounds of the tractor coming onto the crush pad with this years harvest and the sweet smells of fermenting grapes! Exciting news for us - Please help us welcome this year to our RIO SECO harvest family, a guest intern from Macedonia, Bilijana Petrova. BeeBee, as Tom has nicknamed her, is twenty-five and is currently a teaching assistant at the University Faculty of Agriculture in Skopje where she is working on her Master's Thesis in microbiology and wine yeasts. She hopes to attend U.C.Davis next year and become a winemaker someday back in her own country. Also the head honcho on the harvest crew is Lynn Hayes, a retired engineer from Northrup...he is great with ideas and on the forklift! Assisting him is Carey Vasquez, now the newest "cellar rat" along with our daughter, Cait, who has returned home from working eight months at a winery in New Zealand where she ran the tasting room, events, and worked crush. Along with Marcial, we have an excellent team that looks forward to another fantastic harvest season!

Oct. 17 Harvest Festival "Pitmaster Playoff" - 1-4 p.m. $10/pp. Join us for a

"mini" winemaker cookoff with six BBQ stations featuring some of our best summer FFN chefs! Music, too! All proceeds to benefit Supplies for Soldiers and the American Cancer Socity. Call to RSVP, please.
